Stand-up for Ukraine

What a great evening of entertainment that was and for such a good cause.
We did stand up for Ukraine, as did the six acts and The Dragon Inn.

With Luke introducing the show and J-D comparing, the audience were not sure what they would be in for but there was loud and proud laughter during the whole gig.

With acts like Micky Twonames (TwoHats), Howling Fruitcake, J-D, etc. the evening went better than expected and we raised a good few £hundred for a Ukraine support charity.

The write-up we got was not bad either 🙂

Stand up for Ukraine” was remarkable in that it was put together with 2 professional comedians, 2 local lads with a small PA amp and the generosity of the venue.
It not only raised money for the charity, but the audience (around 48 rammed into the upstairs room) were in hysterics after the first act (one of the novices and local characters “Luke” – one of the MishMash organisers and front-man of the fantastic local band the Woo Town).
The fun, and hysterical laughter kept going with the second act – another novice (a killer one-liner and dad-joker with great timing & known as J-D). The fun continued with “Micky Two-Hands” and into the break.
After the break, Luke couldn’t be found (coincidence?) so J-D had to introduce the next act – “the world’s only narcoleptic blues player …Howling Fruitcake”.  Well, this guy rocked the house and crying laughter that went with it gave the final act, pro-comedian (Rich Owen), a very warmed up (and oiled up) audience to keep in stiches.

A great evening’s entertainment with marvelous mix of acts – I’m look forward to the next one.
